Scale-up Worker Visa

A scale-up worker visa allows you as a highly skilled individual to do an eligible job for a UK fast growing company which is approved by the Home Office as a licenced sponsor. The visa can be granted initially for up to 2 years which can be extended however you are only required to be sponsored for a period of 6 months and can seek alternative unsponsored employment if you wish. After you have completed a period of 5 years as a scale-up worker, you will be eligible to apply for indefinite leave to remain subject to satisfying certain criteria.

Who can apply for a Scale-up Worker Visa?

To apply for a scale-up worker visa, you generally must meet the following requirements:

  • Be over the age of 18.
  • Have a valid Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) from a UK Home Office approved employer (sponsor) which covers a period of at least 6 months sponsored employment.
  • Work in an eligible role that appears on the Home Office standard occupational classification code list.
  • Be paid at least £36,300.00 or the minimum salary dependent on your role – whichever is higher.
  • Demonstrate a satisfactory level of English language unless an exception applies.
  • Have the minimum amount of savings required unless your UK Home Office approved employer (sponsor) certifies your maintenance on the Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
