High Potential Individual Visa

A high potential individual visa allows international graduates from top global universities that appear on the Global Universities List to be able to come and work in the UK for a period of up to 2 years provided that they graduated within the last 5 years. If you have a PhD or other doctoral qualification, you may be able to stay for a period of 3 years. This is a temporary visa route and you cannot extend your visa nor can you apply for indefinite leave to remain in the UK however you may be able to switch into another eligible category.

Who can apply for a High Potential Individual Visa?

To apply for a high potential individual, you generally must meet the following requirements:

  • Be over the age of 18.
  • The qualification must be appear on the Global Universities List.
  • Your qualification must be at the same level as a UK bachelor’s degree, a UK postgraduate degree and UK PhD or doctorate.
  • Demonstrate a satisfactory level of English language unless an exception applies.
