Visit Visa

A visit visa enables you to be able to visit the UK to sightsee, visit family, engage in short-term business activities or to receive private medical treatment. You will need to demonstrate that you have funds to support yourself and evidence that you will return to your country of residence once you have completed your visit. You can stay in the UK under this category for a maximum period of up to 6 months. This visa does not allow you to apply for indefinite leave to remain as this falls under a temporary visa route.

Who can apply for a Visit Visa?

To apply for a visit visa, you generally must meet the following requirements:

  • Demonstrate that you will be able to submit yourself during the duration of your trip and that you have adequate accommodation available in the UK.
  • Evidence that you will be able to pay for your return or onward travel.
  • Must intend to leave the UK at the conclusion of your visit.
  • You should not intend to live in the UK for extended periods through frequent visits or intend to make the UK your main place of residence.
