Fiancé(e) Visa / Proposed Civil Partner Visa
If you are planning to relocate and settle in the UK, a fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner visa allows you to enter the UK to marry your British or UK settled partner. The visa is initially granted for a period of 6 months by which time you should marry. You must also ensure once you have married that you submit your application for a UK spouse visa before the expiry of your fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner visa.
Once you have been granted the spouse visa, you will be given further leave to remain in the UK for a period 30 months which can be extended for a further 30 months provided that the relevant criteria continue to be met. After completing a period of 5 years, you may be eligible to apply for indefinite leave to remain which is also known as settlement.
We appreciate the stress that separation from a loved one could have on couples who wish to be able to live together in the UK and it is therefore important to ensure that your fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner visa is completed correctly and that you include all the necessary documents to strengthen the chances of your success. We have the experience and knowledge to assist you with your fiancé(e) or proposed civil partner visa application.
